MSP Terminals
Minneapolis Airport (code: MSP) is a modern and busy airport with two terminals, Terminal 1 (Lindbergh) and Terminal 2 (Humphrey). Terminal 1 is the main terminal, and seven concourses (A, B, C, D, E, F, G) serve most airlines. There is only one concourse (H) in Terminal 2. The terminal is connected by a free onshore light rail service leading to the Mall of America and downtown Minneapolis. Some trams travel within the area of Terminal 1.
MSP Size Comparison
Given the size differences between terminals, it's not surprising that the T1 has more services and equipment. Here you will find the Airport Mall, which has several 24-hour restaurants. T2's options are limited, but the result is quieter and easier to navigate. Both MSP terminals have free Wi-Fi and numerous charging points that you can enjoy while staying connected and waiting. Minnesota's thriving local food scene welcomes visitors as soon as they land at the MSP, where many Minneapolis-Cents gather. Paul's top chef and restaurant owner have opened the store. MSP sightseeing trip
Minneapolis Airport is conveniently located between the two cities, not far from places worth exploring on long connections. If you're adventurous or restless and your next flight is more than 6 hours away, consider taking a sightseeing tour. The best bet is light rail transit (LRT). It frequently departs from Terminal 1 and travels passengers north to downtown Minneapolis in about 25 minutes and south to the Mall of America in 12 minutes. Sure, taxis are more expensive, but they can save you time.
In downtown Minneapolis, take a walk in Minnehaha Park in the heart of the city. There are relaxing green spaces and fun waterfalls. The Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Mill City Museum are great places for some cultures. Check out the Warehouse District for a vibrant city atmosphere with great restaurants and shops. The Mall of America, America's largest mall, is perfect if you want to spend cash, let steam escape at a theme park (indoor roller coaster!), Or entertain the whole family. Spend some time connecting and leaving enough time to return to the airport, pass security and make your next flight.
MSP Sleeping Places
In general, sleeping here is not a problem. Travelers were particularly aware of these areas in Terminal 1. A carpeted area is hidden behind the escalator leading from the baggage claim, a mezzanine in front of security on the 3rd floor, and a deck observatory on Concourse D. There is an armless bench at concourse E. Terminal 2 is less crowded and tends to be quieter. Earplugs and additional layers are helpful because they are bright and cool wherever you go. Due to a heavy storm, the airport will provide mats and blankets if you get stuck here.
Final thoughts
Since the two terminals of the MSP are pretty far from each other, passengers need to know from which terminal their airline operates for proper disembarkation and parking. That said, MSP frequently transports between the two terminals by light rail. Passengers connecting will not be able to connect within the protected area as they will account for 40% of MSP passenger traffic, so passengers will have sufficient time to connect between terminals 1 and 2 and re-enable security checks. Like many US airports, MSP carries out regular modernization and expansion projects to keep pace with growth and improve the passenger experience. These include additional departure gates, new shops and restaurants, improved roads, and new parking ramps.
